A.E. Houseman’s “To An Athlete Dying Young” is very optimistic in my eyes. Throughout the poem Alfred says that this “lad” is smart because he died when he was still a champion or at the top of his game. Because of this the boy will be remembered as a young, healthy, talented athlete.
